Walking in the Maurienne – Vanoise

  • A 6 days mountain walking holiday based in the Haute Maurienne on the edge of the Vanoise National Park and the Italian border.
  • An unspoilt corner of the French Alps.
  • Bonneval is classed amongst the most beautiful villages in France. It is situated at the end of the Maurienne valley and below the famous Col d’Iseran (2700m) it’s narrow streets and roofs covered with stone slabs (lauze).

Description

D1 – Arrival and settle into your hotel.

D2 – Lac de la Partie and the refuge de l’Orgere – Vanoise National Park.

D3 – Lac d’Ambin, les lacs Blanc and the le Lac Noir.

D4 – The Thabor mountain range – Col du Cheval Blanc; Col des Batailleres and the Refuge du Mont Thabor.

D5 Cirque des Evettes.

D6 Lac du Pys et Refuge de Carro – night in the Carro Refuge.

D7 – Descent from the Carro Refuge.

D8 – Depart after breakfast.

6 days walking – 7 nights
Shorter tours and longer tours can be arranged on request

I can recommend a range of hotels or other accommodation.

Meals

Dinner in the refuges is a set menu. It is typically soup, a main course and dessert.
Packed lunches: these can be reserved in advance. There are no shops or other refuges where you can buy food.

Fees

The price indicated is for the group.

1 – 2 people: Euro 1500
3 – 5 people: Euro 1800
6 – 8 people: Euro 2400
