(updated: 17 September 2020)
I am currently able to offer all my guiding activities including: walking, trekking, via ferrata, rock climbing, etc.
Given the current situation can change rapidly I have updated my Terms & Conditions of Booking .
What happens if you can’t offer guiding due to Covid 19?
I will let you know as soon as I become aware of a change that means I can’t offer guiding either at all or for the specific type of guiding you have booked.
What sources of advice do you go on?
I adhere to the advice and directions of the French government. You should also take the advice or direction from your home country e.g. the United Kingdom’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office. See Travel Advice section below.
I cannot guarantee that you will not run the risk of being infected by the virus. However I will use my best endeavours to minimise the risks.
Since, the majority of the time, we will be out of doors the risk of transmitting the virus in the open air is said to be extremely low.
The wearing of masks is currently (9 August 2020) compulsory in enclosed public spaces in France. In certain areas the local authorities have gone further in imposing masks in open places in prone to being crowded areas e.g. markets, tourist sites.
When travelling in my vehicle you will be requested to wear a mask.
You are asked to bring hand sanitiser with you. There will be hand sanitiser available in my vehicle.
Mountain Refuges / Huts
The mountain refuges in France have put a range of measures in place to try and mitigate the risk of Covid. Refuges have removed duvets and pillows clients will need a very lightweight sleeping bag or liner.
The hotels that I work with have all implemented measures to mitigate the risk of virus transmission.
You should have suitable insurance in place that covers Covid. Should the Covid situation change you should allow for the possibility of having to delay your return or return earlier than planned. I will use my best endeavours to assist you. Please click here for possible insurers:
