Snow on the tops this morning. A dramatic drop in temperature overnight with heavy rain has been translated into snow on the tops this morning (c. 2000m altitude).

Ibex on the Tournette, Annecy
Another superb day, early morning mist giving way to warm sunshine. Leaving from above Montmin we passed the Chalet de l’Aulpe before attacking the lower slopes. Reaching the refuge gave time for some improvsed repairs to a pair of boots with the sole detaching. Above I sighted a group of ibex,two females with several young (cabri). Sent from my HTC
Hunting Cabin lunch in the Bauges
Morning mist gave way to sun and snow covered summit of Arcalod in the Bauges. Leaving from above Hardy we climbed to Jean-Claude’s hunting cabin for an apero’ followed by local cheese and charcuterie. This of course accompanied by a Gigondas and then a.digestif of pear rain de vie. The walking after lunch took us to.the Croix d’Allant and also to see the production of Tome des Bauges with a local farmer. Off to the Beaufortain tomorrow … Sent from my HTC
